My work is guided by my intuition and respect for the individual identity that each of us possess.
About Me
I have been working as a psychotherapist in the Bay Area for over 5 years. I received my graduate education at The California Institute of Integral Studies through the Integral Counseling Program which emphasizes doing the inner work necessary to become a healer. My experience is varied, including working with adults struggling with financial resources, chronic mental illness, children, and families. Additionally, I have spent extensive time exploring my own familial patterns and wounds through many years of working with a Jungian Analyst. Life is constantly in flux, as are we- as a healer I take this seriously and am always looking at how I can learn and grow to be better for my clients.
I have a natural curiosity for the inner workings of human beings, which allows me to explore your psyche and unfold your potential while concurrently finding ways to appreciate and cultivate love for yourself, as you are. Therapy is a space to provide empathy and listening, but for me it is also an active space in which I value your time and money; some treatments can take years while others are only a few months - it depends what you want. I don’t use a cookie cutter model. We are all unique and need different things at different moments, and I carry that through with a flexible therapy approach that sets me apart from other therapists.
Prior to moving to the Bay Area nearly a decade ago, I grew up in a culturally rich area of Atlanta, Georgia, which helped to shape my desire to understand the inequalities, both racially and socioeconomically that exist in the world. Having experienced cross-cultural romantic relationships has given me a unique cultural lens to help couples who may have experienced similar issues. I have also experienced making the decision to change careers- prior to becoming a therapist I worked as an events manager but decided to change careers after feeling a lack of passion and fulfillment. These experiences, in addition to many others, led me down the path to do healing work.
Trained in psychodynamic treatment and Jungian theory, I very much value depth work. Although not necessary, I think that tapping into a sense of spirit and deepening one's spiritual practices can help us heal. I am happy to offer exploration into spirit and esoteric matters, but also understand when clients prefer to work in a more traditional format. There are many ways to access our inner elements and I am here for whatever feels right for you and/or your family.
